Spokane Valley Baseball Parents Code of Conduct

Spokane Valley Baseball expects the following standards of conduct and behavior of all parents:

  1. Encourage your player(s) to play by the rules.
  2. Be a positive role model by showing good sportsmanship, a positive attitude and remembering the real reason for the game:  To have fun!
    i,  Applaud the play of both teams.
    ii.  DO NOT ridicule or yell at managers, coaches, player, umpires or other spectators.
    iii.  Remember children learn best by the examples of adults.  Set the right example!
  3. Treat all volunteers (managers, coaches, umpires, board members) with respect and dignity.  Remember, they are volunteers trying to help your child to the best of their abilty.
  4. Respect the authority of managers and umpires during the game.
  5. Do not question or confront them during the course of the game.
  6. Set up an appropriate time and place to discuss your questions or issues.
  7. Reinforce to your player(s) that doing one's best is more important than winning.
  8. Ensure that your player(s) are on time for practices and games.
  9. Respect duouts as private areas for managers, coaches, players and umpires.
  10. Support and participate in some concrete way with your player's team.

The Spokane Valley Baseball League represents more than 50 teams and 700 players between the ages of 4 and 13 in the Valley.  The league is comprised of 4 different groups.
